Some of the ingredients were bought from Robinsons Supermarket Galleria, the Prawns, creamdory and Salmon came from Farmers Market in Cubao.

Ingredients:

Brown Rice

Homemade creamdory fish balls

Salmon

Creamdory

Tiger Prawns

Crab Sticks

Shiitake Mushroom

Tiong HWA Tofu

Fresh Noodles

Chinese Cabbage

Ready to Eat Dae Jang Gum Korean Fresh Kimchi (No Preservatives)

Water

Spring Onions

Chopped chilli

Tomatoes

Carrots

Leeks

Garlic

Preparation:

Just boil the water and pour in all of the ingredients. Make sure to put in the fishballs and tofu first as they tend to cook the longest. Vegetables go in last.

Prepare the kimchi, chopped chillis, chopped onions for garnish and appetizer.
Enjoy!

Little did I know that Radish or locally known as Labanos has many health benefits, it is rich in folic acid, vitamin C and anthocyanins. These are known to be cancer-fighting agents. Radish can also treat skin disorders and a great dietary option for those of you who are aiming to shed some extra pounds. It is also anti congestive and brings down body temperature when one is experiencing fever. These are just among the many benefits of Radish.

But apart of its many health benefits, I just love radish salad. I love the way the colors and the taste of fresh slices of radish, tomatoes and onions in a big bowl with vinegar and a dash of salt & pepper, top it off with salted eggs and freshly squeezed Calamansi juice fuse into one big delightful salad.

Recipe

Radish

Salted Eggs

Freshly Squeezed Calamansi

Sliced Onions

Vinegar

Chilli Pepper

You shouldn’t be only concerned of the food that you take but also, of the food that your skin takes. If body needs nourishment so as beauty. I started using Snoe White Beauty Bar about a month ago and I can evidently see the immediate improvement on my skin.

Now, I’m pretty sure that you have a big question on your mind. I had this blog for over a year now and it’s obviously about food. You must be wondering why I have posted something like this – a far-flung topic that doesn’t even have the slightest relevance to food. You are wrong. I tell you.

Why?

Because our skin needs to be nurtured and nourished and with that, we have to feed it with all the nourishment that it needs and I am not talking about the expensive chemicals that you buy from the posh stores which are not safe to use and are very harmful to your skin, let alone health. I am talking about a naturally made soap by Snoe Beauty Inc. This is another Filipino brand that we all have to give our support to. Love your own.

Snoe White Beauty Bar comes in 12 types (they have numbered their soaps, you will see it in the packaging but the list below is not in order):

Maximum Whitening Moringa or Malunggay

Vitamin C Rich Calamansi

Rejuvenating Collagen

Exfoliating Oatmeal

Organic Green Papaya

Organic Papaya (orange)

Special Kojic And Gluta Combo

Extra Strength Glutathione

Extra Strength Kojic

Special Black Bleaching Soap

Lightening Licorice

Antibac Brightening Citronella

The common denominator for these soaps is the aim for that whiter and radiant skin. They come in a lovely packaging and in different colors according to the natural ingredient they represent.

My personal favorite is the Snoe White Organic Green Papaya Beauty Bar, I am not a user of whitening products but I use this soap because it effectively exfoliates my skin, it eliminates the dark pigmentation and blemishes on my skin. I love a shiny skin, not a shiny oily but a shiny healthy and firm skin that is fresh, radiant and clean. And that is what a Snoe Beauty Bar does to my skin.

If you have acne problems, you might want to try the Snoe Beauty Moringa Beauty Bar – it is naturally made of Moringa or Malunggay that is rich in Vitamins A, C, and E that make the skin lighter and more importantly it also contains, a high level of oleic acid that stimulates skin regeneration and has healing benefits for acne, cuts, scrapes and skin cracks for a healthier and fairer looking skin.

Snoe Beauty Inc. is a company that produces herbal skin care and is therefore naturally safe and an absolutely good food for your skin, it has outlets in SM Muntinlupa, Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Malate, they are also in the Bazaars near you. I heard that they will open another branch in Cinderella at Glorietta 5 by end of October. For more information, you may visit Snoe Beauty’s Facebook Page:

Cafe Mary Grace is one of the restaurants in manila that I love to visit every now and then. Its homey atmosphere is delightful to the senses and its unique food offering appeals to my taste buds like cotton candy and rainbow. I love Cafe Mary Grace’s grilled ensaymada – the bread is cake-like, simply wonderful, topped with cheese and grilled to perfection. It is best to pair it with brewed coffee or hot chocolate.

For starters, you can try their grilled Kesong Puti that comes with fresh slices of toasted bread. All Savory starters come with fresh slices of toasted bread. Grilled Kesong Puti is just simply my favorite as it is light and I take pleasure in spreading Kesong Puti on each of the bread.

I also love their Pasta Amatriciana with Italian Meatballs – spaghetti noodles tossed with a thick tomato sauce flavored with bacon and chili to get that extra kick and topped with italian meatballs for all of you meat lovers out there.

And the best thing I love in Cafe Mary Grace is their unbeatable Mango Bene for dessert.

Here we go again with the erratic weather, a perfect time to seek comfort from food. I spent two hours in the kitchen baking my favorite cookies and it brought a smile to my face. Chocolate chip cookies bring many great memories I have of my little vacation in Florida. It reminds me of a rose garden, the smell of freshly cut grass, the hot summer, the blue and wispy sky and most of all, a glass of cold milk. Life has always a way of reminding us of the memories of the past, distant or otherwise.

I love listening to the sound of raindrops. It reminds me of many things, I love sitting on my bed with this wonderful book The Elegance of the Hedgehog while munching on some Chocolate Chip Cookies and wash it all down with a glass of cold milk. Life’s little treasure.

I barely slept last night, if I can remember it correctly I only had 4 hours of sleep. I got up at 8 AM and had a quick and light breakfast. Things have been getting pretty hectic lately, too hectic I had to skip lunch. Afternoon came and I felt my stomach complaining. I went to the kitchen and found nothing quick to grab just to remedy my stomach in rage. So then it left me with no choice but to cook something even in the middle of working. And voila, here is my version of fettuccini with tuna pesto.

You will need:

fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons pine nuts, untoasted

garlic clove

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/2 cup parmesan cheese or (freshly grated parmigiano reggiano)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

fettuccini pasta

1 can tuna in oil

Directions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. Combine the basil, pine nuts, garlic, and olive oil in a blender and blend to a puree. Add the cheese, salt and pepper, and blend again.

Heat the pan, saute olive oil and garlic and tuna. Set aside.

Cook the pasta in the boiling, salted water until al dente, about 3 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl. Add the pesto and tuna and toss. Taste for salt and pepper, and add a drizzle of oil, if you like.
